Guwahati: Bike lifters and burglars arrested across city

Guwahati: In two separate successful operations, the Guwahati Police have apprehended bike lifters and thieves involved in recent criminal activities across the city. A team from Basistha Police Station arrested a notorious bike lifter, Mafizuddin (35), from Jaokatadia under Boko police station. Acting on his leads, the police later nabbed Azizul Hoque, a known receiver of stolen two-wheelers, from Badlapathar in Nagarbera. The team recovered two stolen motorcycles with fake number plates — Hero Super Splendor and Hero Glamour. The duo is suspected to be involved in multiple bike theft cases across Guwahati. Legal action has been initiated. In another operation, a team from Satgaon Police Station arrested two thieves — Faruk Ali and Momin Ali (both 20), residents of Mikirbheta, Morigaon — for breaking into an under-construction building and stealing newly installed bathroom fittings.
