Guwahati: CBI registers case against Sr Auditor, private firm

GUWAHATI: The CBI, Guwahati, has registered a regular case against Mrinmoy Ghosh, Sr. Auditor, Office of the Controller of Defence Accounts, Guwahati; Sabita Chamaria, owner of M/s Shyam Subdar, M/s SN Distributor and M/s Durga Notors; and Bikash Sarkar, an employee of Sabita Chamaria, and other unknown persons having entered into a criminal conspiracy demanding and accepting undue advantage, influencing public servants as in charge of a commercial organisation as well by a commercial organisation and abetment of the said offences.

The case was registered under Section 61(2) BNS and Sections 7, 7A, 8, 9, 10 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018).

There are reports of the arrest of Sr Auditor Mrinmoy Ghosh. However, the CBI is yet to confirm it.
