Guwahati: Acting on a complaint filed by Kishalay Das regarding the theft of wires from his building at JS Arcade on MLN Road, Panbazar Police apprehended two suspects within an hour of registering the case. The accused, identified as Dheeraj Nath alias Biki Nath (20), a resident of Amingaon near ICT, and Din Islam (35) from Hablakha, Hajo, were nabbed after police analysed CCTV footage from the area.
During the investigation, police recovered several stolen items from a scrap shop owned by Din Islam near Harisabha on MLN Road. The seized items included four iron bars, four iron pipes, one square-shaped iron pipe, ten aluminium parts of AC outer units, two axes, a sound system, parts of a ceiling fan, wire components, a router with two remotes, a bag containing square-shaped iron bars, and parts of medals and trophies.
In another significant breakthrough, Basistha Police apprehended three wanted thieves involved in multiple burglary cases. The arrested individuals have been identified as Swapan Roy alias Bhuttu (27) originally from Kacharihat, Sumit Das (22) residing at Natun Bazar Nodipar, and Sahjahan Ali alias Babu (29) hailing from Ghoga near Chowk. During the operation, the police recovered stolen copper wires and a red-colored carpet from their possession. Further investigation is underway.
