Guwahati: Chargesheet filed against LDA and wife in SCERT scam case

Guwahati: The Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell (CM’s SVC) has submitted a 1,468-page chargesheet before the Special Judge in connection with the ongoing SCERT scam investigation.

The chargesheet has been filed against Ramez Uddin Ahmed, a Lower Division Assistant (LDA) at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), and his wife Manjula Choudhury, in connection with Vigilance PS Case No. 02/2025 under Sections 13(1)(b), 13(2), and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Ahmed was previously arrested in the SCERT scam case, which also saw the arrest of Sewali Devi Sharma and 20 others. The investigation revealed that the couple possessed assets disproportionate to their known sources of income by a staggering 255.09%.
