Guwahati: Department of Cultural Affairs, Assam Declared Silpi Pension in State

The Department of Cultural Affairs, Assam named 73 artistes and 29 family members of deceased artistes for Silpi Pension and Family Pension, 2024-25 today.

GUWAHATI: The Department of Cultural Affairs, Assam named 73 artistes and 29 family members of deceased artistes for Silpi Pension and Family Pension, 2024-25 today. The pension awards are in exercise of powers conferred by the Assam Award of Pension to Artistes and Special Pension to their families Rules 1987. The pensions will be effective from January 17, 2025.

Some of the family pensions include Shanta Uzir, widow of late musician Bhupen Uzir; Aparna Mishra, widow of film director Guna Sindhu Hazarika; Pragati Mahanta, wife of singer Digen Mahanta; Santana Banerjee, widow of music composer Nanda Banerjee; and others.
