GUWAHATI: Following the directives of the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Irrigation Department has completed the repair of 35 tube wells in Rani Chapori, ensuring a solution to the water problem faced by farmers in the region. During his visit to Rani Chapori on January 14, 2025, the Chief Minister was informed by farmers about the malfunctioning of several tube wells in the area. The Chief Minister instructed the Irrigation Department to immediately restore the tube wells.

Upon inspection, it was found that out of the 35 tube wells, 21 were non-functional. The department replaced the damaged parts, including controllers/starters and MCBs, and restored all the tube wells by February 7, 2025.

To ensure the long-term functionality and proper use of the tubewells, an awareness meeting was organized on February 10, 2025, at Rani Chapori. Officials from the Irrigation Department interacted with farmers and provided necessary guidance on the proper maintenance and use of the tube wells.
