
GUWAHATI: Down town Health Mela 2025, organized as part of down town hospital's 36th Anniversary celebrations, successfully concluded today, witnessing an exceptional response from the community. Over 1,400 citizens availed of free medical consultations and diagnostic services during the two-day mega healthcare initiative held at Lakhidhar Bora Kshetra.
The event, inaugurated on February 6, provided specialized consultations by expert doctors from various speciality and super-specialty departments. The medical team was further supported by Physiotherapy, Psychological Counselling, and Diet Counselling ensuring a holistic healthcare experience.
Among the 1,400 beneficiaries, the highest number of consultations were recorded in General Medicine and Hypertension, followed by individuals seeking care for back pain and other musculoskeletal issues under Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy. Many citizens also received expert guidance for Diabetes, Cardiac conditions, ENT problems, Respiratory issues, Obstetrics & Gynaecological concerns, Psychiatry counselling, Diet Counselling, Breast Screening, Urology and General Surgery. The Paediatrics department also saw significant footfall, addressing children's health and well-being.
In addition to medical consultations, citizens benefitted from essential free diagnostic tests, allowing early detection and timely intervention for various health conditions.
Expressing gratitude for the enthusiastic participation, Ms. Mayurakshi Dutta, Executive Director, down town hospital stated, "It is heartening to see such a great response from the community.
