Guwahati: Drug Peddlers Arrested in City, Legal Action Initiated

Guwahati: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, an EGPD team from Basistha Police Station raided a hideout in Khanapara and apprehended two drug peddlers, Rinku Kalita (33) of Chaygaon and Bijoy Das (34) of Sonapur.

The duo was caught red-handed with 7 boxes of heroin weighing 79.34 grams. During the operation, police also seized 64 empty vials, one mobile handset, and Rs 2,430 in cash from the spot. Legal action has been initiated against the accused.
