Guwahati: The Guwahati Police have made major breakthroughs in cracking down on illegal activities across the city. In the first case, a team from Dispur Police Station raided Room No. 128 at Dispur Lodge and apprehended three individuals from Mancachar for possession of fake currency and narcotics.
The arrested have been identified as Gulam Mustafa Seikh (25), Mirazul Rahman (34), and Nurul Ali (36).
The raid led to the recovery of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 1,37,400 — including 217 pieces of Rs 200 notes (Rs 43,400) and 188 pieces of Rs 500 notes (Rs 94,000). Two packets of Yaba tablets, containing 123 and 110 pills respectively and weighing a total of 28 grams, were also seized.
In another operation, a team from Jalukbari Police Station raided a hideout near the Pandu Cabin Rail Line area. The team seized a total of 112 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) of various brands and quantities, suspected to be part of an illegal stock.
