A joint team from the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD), Dispur Police Station, and the Special Operations Group (East) carried out a follow-up raid at a hideout near Radisson Blu, Jalukbari. The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into the FICN racket.

Three persons were arrested during the operation. They have been identified as Islam Ali alias Sahil of Goreswar, Saiful Islam of Sonapur village in Lakhimpur, and Md. Sahil Ali of Koraibil, Chaygaon. From their possession, the police recovered fake currency with a face value of Rs 45,66,500, all in Rs 500 denomination notes.

Apart from the fake notes, several suspicious items were also seized from the spot, including one electric device, 14 bottles of tincture iodine, one pair of police uniform, 8.5 pieces of gold-coloured boats, a pack of A4-size paper, three mobile handsets, and one bank passbook.

Following this, another raid was conducted at the residence of prime accused Islam Ali alias Sahil, which led to the recovery of Rs 4,60,000 in genuine currency, four more bottles of tincture iodine, six mobile phones, and a cash counting machine.
