Guwahati: Business On Footpath And Street Prohibited In These Two Areas

Guwahati: The Guwahati Police Commissioner has prohibited footpath and street business across two areas under the Bhangagarh and Dispur Police Station (PS).

In this regard, the office of the commissioner of police issued a order on Monday which stated that the general commuters have faced problem as the footpaths are filled with street vendors.

"It is necessary to take preventive measures to ensure free and smooth movement of public, smooth flow of traffic and normal functioning of business establishments nearby in the mentioned areas," the order read.

The areas include Bhangagarh Flyover to Roopnagar Rotary and from Six Mile Flyover to Panjabari.

The order further also read that if anyone has any kind of problem with this order can meet Hemanta Kumar Das, APS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin) with their written objection.

The order has come into force with immediate effect.
