Guwahati: A long-cherished dream of the legal fraternity at the Gauhati High Court was fulfilled on Wednesday with the formal inauguration of the Gauhati High Court Branch of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX). The initiative, aimed at fostering literary engagement among advocates and promoting Assamese literature and culture, was marked by a public meeting held on the High Court premises. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Axam Xahitya Xabha president Krishnakanta Mahanta and secretary Sandeep Chamaria, along with several dignitaries and members of the legal community.
In the meeting, various literary and cultural issues were actively discussed, with advocates expressing their views on how the legal fraternity can contribute meaningfully to the enrichment of Assamese literature. The gathering unanimously resolved to take all necessary steps to ensure official recognition of the branch as a part of the broader Axam Xahitya Xabha in the near future. The newly elected office-bearers of the branch were formally entrusted with responsibilities to initiate and coordinate all upcoming activities. The members also urged collective efforts for the uplift of Assamese literature and culture through this newly formed platform.
