Guwahati: GMC Issues Final Notice for Property Tax Payments

Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has issued a final notice urging property owners to clear their outstanding property taxes by March 31 to avoid penalties.

According to the GMC, defaulters will face a 20% penalty on unpaid dues, and properties may be attached under Sections 188 and 189 of the GMC Act, 1971. Officials have stressed the importance of timely tax payments for the smooth functioning of civic services and warned of strict legal action against non-compliance. Residents are advised to check their dues and make payments at designated GMC offices or through online portals before the deadline.
