Chennai's Karadi Tales collaborates for event

GUWAHATI: With an aim to provide a wider platform to the child writers of Northeast India and take the region's literature to the world stage, Chennai-based children's publishing firm — Karadi Tales — has collaborated with the 'Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival', to organise a children's story writing competition from today.

Organised with the theme 'Northeast India's vibrant indigenous culture, customs and folk tales', the submissions for the competition will be open until October 30, and the results will be declared on (Children's Day), i.e., November 14, 2020. The 'Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival' is Northeast India's first and only of its kind regional, multilingual literary and arts forum, stated a release.

The winner of the competition will get an opportunity to publish the winning story with 'Karadi Tales', and the trophy will be awarded by the management of 'Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival'.

This is a direct opportunity for the children of Northeast India to vie for an opportunity to see their writings getting published by Karadi Tales which was founded in 1996. Those submitting their stories early will win 10 early bird prizes consisting of 'Audio Books' from Karadi Tales. Besides, participants will get their certificates of participation.

The 'Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival' is dedicated towards the cause of enrichment of Northeast India's poetry, literature and arts, and invites children from across the eight States of NE India to be a part of this event to allow the world to explore the vibrant cultures, customs and folktales of NE India through their writings, the release added.
