Guwahati: Liquor and Heroin Seized in City

GUWAHATI: Police conducted a raid at a residence of Mansri Basumatary in the Japorigog area under Dispur PS on Monday and seized a significant quantity of illicit liquor. During the raid, the police recovered 72 bottles of beer and 299 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from the premises. Additionally, 300 litres of country-made liquor were destroyed on the spot. In a separate incident, Gorchuk PS raided a shop at Sawkuchi and seized 87 bottles of illegal liquor. Legal action initiated. In yet another incident, a team from Gorchuk PS arrested a person named Kohinoor Ali, alias Rahul Ali (27), of Goraimari after he was caught with 11 vials of heroin weighing 14.46 grams near Boragaon Bridge. Legal action initiated.
