Guwahati: Major Drug Bust Under Ulubari Flyover; Narcotics Seized

GUWAHATI: In a major drive, the Paltan Bazar Police, along with the Crime Branch, conducted a successful crackdown of drugs under Ulubari flyover in Guwahati. The operation yielded a large amount of drugs worth almost Rs. 1 crore, marking a significant achievement in the ongoing campaign against drug peddling in the area.

During the operation, law enforcement officials apprehended a suspect identified as Akhilesh Kumar Barman, who is believed to be actively involved in the local drug trade. The police discovered the drugs concealed in three containers, which were intercepted before they could reach their intended destination. Apart from the drugs, officials also seized a large quantity of money during the operation, further reflecting the extent of the drug business.

The crackdown is an example of the determination of local law enforcement agencies to combat drug crimes and enhance public safety. The successful operation is an example of the cooperation between Paltan Bazar Police and Crime Branch in tackling the issue of drug trafficking in the city.
