Guwahati: Man arrested in case relating to wife’s death in city

GUWAHATI: Paltan Bazar Police arrested Mintu Kalita, who had been detained in the case relating to the death of his wife, Karishma Das, apparently by hanging in their rented house at Lachit Nagar in Guwahati.

Mintu Kalita hails from Sualkuchi, and his wife was from Azara.

The family members of Karishma Das lodged an FIR at Paltan Bazar Police on May 19 and alleged that Karishma was murdered. Paltan Bazar Police registered a case (150/2025) in that connection. According to the police, the reasons behind the death of Karishama Das will come to the fore after the release of the post-mortem report.
