GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced that the water supply in some of the locations of the city will be disrupted owing to necessary maintenance-related work. The announcement mentioned that the water supply consumers under the Panbazar Water Treatment Plant of GMC are to be prepared in view of the restoration work that will be carried out by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). They mentioned that the water supply will be disrupted from 10/01/2024 to 11/01/2024 due to the modification and shifting of the existing transformer and panel board from the intake point thereof.

The water supply in the affected areas is expected to resume on January 12, 2024, according to GMC, which asked the consumers to bear with GMC for the unavoidable circumstances. The following areas are to be affected because of this maintenance work: Panbazar, Fancy Bazar, Athgaon, A.T. Road, Chatribari, Paltanbazar, Rehabari, Kacharibasti, B. Baruah Road, Ulubari, Gandhibasti, South-Sarania, Lachit Nagar, Bhangagarh, Rajgarh, and Pub-Sarania.
