Guwahati: The Periodic Assessment Test (PAT) for students of class VI, VII, and VIII will be held on February 20. The test will be held for the schools having Assamese medium students. The test will be held in schools having the facilities of tele-education and smart classrooms. According to Samagra Shiksha, Assam (SSA), there are 5214 Assamese medium schools having 720,460 students in class VI to VIII. There will be 15 questions each for Assamese, science, and mathematics, and the total number of questions per class will be 45.
The time duration for PAT for each class will be one and a half hours, i.e., 90 minutes to attempt 45 questions. The class VI test will start from 9.30 am to 11 am. The class VII test will start from 11.30 am to 1 pm, and the class VII test will start from 1.30 pm to 3 pm.
SSA has written a letter to the All District Additional District Commissioner (Education), Inspector of Schools, District Elementary Education Officers, and SSA District Mission Coordinators for smooth conduction of PAT. In the letter, SSA said that the test for the three classes will be held on the same day. The schools need to specify at least three teachers for each of the subjects to conduct the PAT for respective classes. The question papers will be displayed on the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) screen of the smart class and the projector screen of the tele-class 15 minutes prior to the exam. The testing and training of displaying the sample question paper will be held on February 19. The student will answer the questions in their class copy. The teacher will individually check each student’s copy and mark against the correct answer of each question in the PAT chatbot. The teachers will be given training on the usage of the PAT chatbot by February 19. The obtained marks of each student need to be submitted in the chatbot between February 21 and February 28.
