Guwahati: Police nabbed drug peddlers, seized heroin in city

Guwahati: In two separate operations against illegal narcotics, Guwahati Police on Monday apprehended two drug peddlers from different parts of the city.

A team from Paltanbazar Police Station, arrested Boswajit Boro (24) of Fatasil Ambari near Vishal Point. The police seized 12 grams of heroin concealed in a soap box, along with a syringe and an empty vial. Legal proceedings have been initiated.

In another operation, a team from Bhangagarh Police Station apprehended Joy Kumar (27) of Ananda Nagar at Rajib Nagar, near Mrityunjay Mandir. The police recovered 21 packets of suspected ganja weighing 175 grams, Rs 15,230 in cash, and a Redmi mobile phone from his possession. Legal action has also been initiated in this case.
