Guwahati: Police rescued girl, accused arrested in city

GUWAHATI: A team of Sonapur Police Station led by the OC & SOG of East Guwahati Police District recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused from Guwahati on Tuesday early morning.

Father of the victim girl, a resident at Baliyasthan, lodged an FIR at Sonapur police station on Monday evening stating that at approximately 03:45 pm while his 19 years old daughter was returning home from Dimoria College after the ongoing H.S final exams, one Mohibur Khan (21yrs), residing at Sonapur Balligate, threatened the complainant’s daughter and forcefully kidnapped her and fled from the scene.
