Guwahati: Policeman found dead under mysterious circumstances in city

Guwahati: A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the Dighalipukhuri area in Guwahati on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Hiteshwar Kalita, a personnel of the 10th Assam Police Battalion, believed to be in his 30s. Kalita was discovered lying unresponsive by the roadside, dressed in a blue shirt and half-pants. A bag was also recovered near his body. Upon receiving information, Panbazar police reached the spot and sent the body to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police are investigating the incident.
