GUWAHATI: The state committee of the Rashtriya Muslim Mancha (RMM) staged a protest on May 3 at Jalukbari against the recent killing of tourists at Pahalgam in Kashmir. The protestors also lighted flames and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased and early recovery of the injured.

Besides Northeast Rashtriya Muslim Mancha convener Rafiq Ahmed and Assam convener of the mancha Rajib Ahmed, several BJP leaders shouted slogans against Pakistan and urged the central government to take action against the neighbouring country.

They also appreciated the measures being taken by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma against those supporting Pakistan from Assam soil.
