Guwahati Ropeway to remain closed from Sept 26 to Oct 5

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority announced that the Guwahati Ropeway will remain closed to the public from September 26 to October 5.

They mentioned that the service would remain suspended for this duration owing to some annual maintenance work as well as a mock drill of the rescue services. The announcement which came over the social media website ‘X’ also mentioned that the regular services will be resumed again on 6 October. It is important to note that the ropeway is the quickest mode of transportation between the north and the south banks of the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati and a huge number of daily commuters use this service on a regular basis to ensure that they reach their offices or educational institutions on time. It is also one of the favourite modes of transportation for tourists who want to get an aerial view of the river in the city.
