Guwahati: Rs 7.32 lakh recovered in gold loan scam in city

Guwahati: In a significant breakthrough, a team from the Cyber Police Station successfully recovered Rs 7,32,200 today and credited it back to the bank account of a Ganeshguri resident who had earlier fallen victim to a cyber fraud amounting to Rs 13.3 lakh.

The fraud involved a fake gold loan clearance scheme, through which the victim was duped of a large sum. Authorities confirmed that efforts are currently underway to trace and recover the remaining amount.
