Guwahati Smart City Limited To Carry Out Infrastructure Development

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Smart City Limited will be taking up new projects at various important public places. The projects under pipeline under LED Street lighting in Spine and ESSL roads, the entire city will be provided with intelligent street lighting system. The Brahmaputra Riverfront Development Project will be implemented very soon. The Master System Integrator Project (MSI) will implement a modern security and surveillance system which will enhance the safety and security of the citizens. The project will also set up infrastructure at important public places which will provide wi-fi services and emergency response services for the citizens, information bill boards, public address system in case of emergency.

It needs to be mentioned that Guwahati Smart City Limited was declared as Smart City on 16th January, 2016 and Tata Consulting Engineers Limited has been engaged as PMC in November 2016 for implementation of the project. The projects taken up for implementation by Smart City Limited are installation of high mast National Flag at Gandhi Mandap, redevelopment and improvement of Gandhi Mandap, installation of Water ATMs, installation of Smart Bio-Toilets and installation of LED Street Lights under Project Jyoti under phase 1. The National Flag mast has already been commissioned. Twenty numbers of Water ATMs have also been installed at various locations of the city which provides the citizens clean and portable water at subsidized rates. As an attempt to promote better sanitation practices, twenty numbers of Bio-toilet units are installed in various locations of the city. Under Project Jyoti, ten thousand beneficiaries will be provided with LED Street Light as informed in a press release by the Managing Director of Guwahati Smart City Limited, stated a press release.
