GUWAHATI: Two more persons have been caught in the state for sympathising with Pakistan in the post-Pehalgam incident and the subsequent India-Pakistan war. The two are Dilbar Hussain, arrested in Sonitpur, and Hafizur Rahman, arrested by the Kamrup Police. With these two, the state has as many as 81 behind bars for sympathising with Pakistan.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on social media that ‘the Assam Police have sent 81 people to jail for extending support to Pakistan. This drive by the Assam Police is not a small one. It is meant to identify antinational elements to make the country secure.’
