Guwahati: Thief caught; stolen mobile recovered in city

Guwahati: A thief was caught red-handed while attempting to flee after stealing a mobile phone from a grocery shop at Anil Nagar in Guwahati. The accused, identified as Kuwab Ali (20), son of late Abdul Khalek and a resident of Kharupetia, Mangaldoi, was apprehended by the police with the help of residents. The incident took place at Link Road, Anil Nagar, where Ali allegedly stole a Samsung mobile phone from the shop. However, his escape attempt was foiled by vigilant locals who detained him until the police arrived. The stolen mobile phone was recovered, and the accused has been taken into custody.
