GUWAHATI: A three-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) aimed at promoting the vision of a “Viksit Bharat @ 2047” organized by the Regional Office of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Guwahati, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, began on Monday at Dadara, Kamrup (R). The programme, which will run till March 26, is being held at the Bhrigu Kumar Phukan Auditorium in Dadara. The programme focuses on key themes such as Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Swachhata Hi Seva and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
An exhibition has been set up for the three-day event with more than 35 panels showcasing various government schemes and initiatives aimed at nation-building and citizen welfare. The event was inaugurated by Pranab Dutta Goswami, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (R), who visited the exhibition stalls set up by the Department of Health, Government of Assam, and self-help groups of local women entrepreneurs.
In his address, Goswami praised the Central Bureau of Communication for its efforts in disseminating government policies and fostering community engagement. He stressed the importance of collective efforts in realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047. He said, “Swachhata and environmental conservation are the cornerstones of a developed nation. A clean and sustainable environment not only boosts the health and well-being of the people but also drives economic growth and ensures a better quality of life for future generations.” Marjina Begum, Assistant Block Development Officer of Hajo Block, also addressed the gathering, encouraging active participation in government initiatives. Other dignitaries present included Madhav Chandra Pathak, Retired Principal of Dadara Higher Secondary School, and Milan Kalita, Senior Associate of CSS, State Bank of India, Dadara, along with other dignitaries.
The inaugural day featured vibrant cultural performances by CBC’s departmental artists, including the Bhortal dance, folk dances, and patriotic songs, all aimed at promoting national unity and raising awareness about government programmes.
