Guwahati Traffic Police to take action against people carrying LPG cylinders in vehicles

The Guwahati traffic police has issued its warning at a time when Guwahati has been put under lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19

Guwahati: Guwahati city's traffic police today used Twitter as a platform to inform people that LPG cylinders are to be delivered to their doorsteps, as per the lockdown guidelines. The city's traffic police further added that any person found carrying such cylinders for domestic use, in their private vehicles, would have to face stern action from the authorities.

The city traffic police force via its official Twitter handle tweeted out, "As per Lockdown guidelines LPG cylinders are to be home delivered. Action would be taken against people carrying LPG cylinders in their private vehicles."

This warning has been issued at a time when Guwahati city, in its entirety, has been put under lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Owing to the rapid spread of the virus in the urban area, the Government has issued a complete lockdown in the city, which will be in effect till July 12 next. However, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has forewarned that if the situation continues to worsen, another lockdown could be in the offing.
