GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metropolitan District has initiated a crucial step towards ensuring a smooth and efficient Panchayat election by launching a training programme for polling officials. The training session, held at the District Library, brought together around 400 presiding officers and 400 first polling officers from various parts of the city.

District Development Commissioner Parijat Bhuyan addressed the gathering, briefing the presiding and polling officers on their responsibilities and duties during the election process. Master trainers at the district level conducted detailed sessions, equipping the officials with essential knowledge and skills for conducting the elections smoothly and efficiently.

The session was attended by the District Election Officer, Biswajit Pegu, along with other officials and staff involved in the electoral process. This comprehensive training initiative aims to ensure a well-organized, fair, and peaceful Panchayat election in the district.
