Guwahati: Two Dead, One Critical in Early Morning Collision at Noonmati

Guwahati: In a tragic road accident early today morning, two people lost their lives and another sustained critical injuries following a head-on collision in the Sector 3 area of Noonmati, Guwahati.

According to reports, the victims were riding a two-wheeler when an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction rammed into them around 4:30 AM.

Police officials from Noonmati Police Station reached the scene shortly after the incident and immediately shifted the injured person to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for urgent medical attention. He is said to be in critical condition.

All three were reportedly returning from the Bol Bom ritual at the time of the accident.

Speaking to reporters, a traffic in-charge of Noonmati Police Station stated, “We are investigating the matter. The injured person admitted to GMCH is in critical condition. We are trying to determine how the accident occurred.”

Authorities have launched a probe to ascertain the exact cause of the collision, and further details are awaited.
