Guwahati: The "Sampurna Sewa Maah" initiative, launched by the Office of the Kamrup Metropolitan District Transport Officer, has garnered widespread support from vehicle users across the city. Since its commencement on July 1, the campaign has witnessed active participation from citizens across various walks of life.

A key highlight of the week-long drive was the involvement of students from multiple city colleges, who received free simulation-based driving training through a collaboration with the Honda Safety Driving Education Centre. The sessions focused on enhancing learner competency, aiming to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary for obtaining a driving license.

In addition to students, professionals including teachers, doctors, lawyers, journalists, armed forces families, and senior citizens have also enthusiastically joined the initiative. More than twenty individuals are reportedly visiting the event daily to address and resolve various vehicle-related documentation issues. Senior transport official Gautam Das has appealed to citizens-particularly students and professionals-to continue taking part in the month-long activities under "Sampurna Sewa Maah." Emphasizing the influential role these groups play in society, Das stated that priority is being given to their concerns in order to encourage responsible vehicle ownership.

"When responsible citizens ensure their vehicle documents are updated, they set a standard for others to follow. This kind of alertness and responsibility will go a long way in promoting accident-free and secure travel across the state," Das added.
