Guwahati: Victim of hit-and-run case Samiul Haque dies

Guwahati: Samiul Haque, a 23-year-old final-year engineering student and newly-appointed temporary employee at the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), has succumbed to injuries sustained in a hit-and-run incident involving Assamese actress Nandini Kashyap. He passed away while on life support at a private hospital on Tuesday.

The tragic incident occurred on the night of July 26, the very day Samiul had joined GMC. Initially admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in critical condition, he was later shifted to a private hospital for advanced treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he could not recover from the trauma.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed the seizure of the vehicle involved, a car bearing registration number AS 01FM 9199, and stated that investigations are ongoing.
