Guwahati: Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped; Four Held

Guwahati: Police on Friday arrested four people for their alleged involvement in a gang rape in Guwahati's Hatigaon.

The arrested persons were identified as Naimuddin Ali, Mukul Islam, Asraful Manik, along with Rafiq Ali, the CEO of the company they work for.

Reportedly, the incident took place on Wednesday, when the three accused took the woman to a house in the locality for lunch and then raped her.

However, three of them have denied the allegations and claimed that the woman had blackmailed them.

While speaking to the media, one of the accused said that the woman demanded Rs 5000 from them in exchange for physical favours.

Meanwhile, the four of them have been sent for medical examination to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
