GUWAHATI: A woman narrowly escaped an alleged murder attempt by her partner identified as Rajesh Dev near the Dispur Police Station on December 29. According to reports, Rajesh Dev was allegedly waiting near the police station with a knife, reportedly intending to attack the woman.

Swiftly responding, the victim managed to escape the attack and sought safety by running into the police station.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that Rajesh Dev, who has been married twice and is a father of four, raised questions about the motives and circumstances surrounding the incident.

The dramatic escape has sparked concerns about women's safety and the increasing incidents of violent confrontations. Authorities are currently investigating the case for more details.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, a girl was stabbed by a miscreant in broad daylight in Guwahati's Last Gate area and she succumbed to her injuries at GMCH.

According to witnesses, the victim, who sustained severe injuries to her neck, abdomen, and hand, was attacked by a man identified as Bhupen Das.

The woman, identified as Mousumi Gogoi, a resident of Dibrugarh, worked for an NGO in Guwahati. She was waiting for a Rapido ride when the attack took place. According to reports, the attacker arrived in a Swift Dzire car and stabbed her.
