Guwahati: Women alleges rape by ex-boyfriend, FIR lodged

GUWAHATI: A 27-year-old woman has filed a complaint alleging that her ex-boyfriend, Shahj Uddin, raped her inside a vehicle while travelling from Morigaon to Guwahati. According to the FIR lodged at Bhagaduttapur Outpost under Dispur Police Station (Case No. 322/25 U/s 64(1) BNS), the incident occurred on March 29 when the accused lured the victim to Guwahati under the pretext of buying clothes.

The victim, who had broken up with the accused a year ago, met him in Morigaon town on March 29. He allegedly took her to Dakhingaon in Kahilipara at night, where he assaulted her inside the vehicle around 8 pm. After the alleged rape, he dropped her back at Morigaon town.

Following the complaint, the Bhagaduttapur Police with the help of Dhing Police, apprehended the accused from Nagaon and brought him to Dispur Police Station for further legal proceedings. The police are currently investigating the matter and gathering evidence.
