Guwahati: Assam Skill University (ASU), in collaboration with the Pentapolis Foundation, marked World Youth Skills Day 2025 with a high-profile event at a private hotel in Guwahati, emphasizing the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), STEM education, and youth employability in shaping Assam’s future workforce. The event brought together educators, policymakers, and industry leaders to deliberate on strategies for equipping youth with future-ready skills in line with global standards. In the inaugural address, ASU Vice Chancellor Subhash Chandra Das reflected on the UN’s 2014 initiative to designate July 15 as World Youth Skills Day. He stressed the importance of bridging academic learning with real-world applications, particularly in the fast-evolving tech landscape. “We must scale up our skilling ecosystem and equip our youth to meet global challenges,” he said. Delivering the keynote, Chief Guest Abhishek Chakroborty discussed the dual-edged impact of Artificial Intelligence, calling it both a powerful tool and a complex challenge. He highlighted the need for inclusive access to AI-focused education, and lauded ASU’s role in pioneering industry-aligned, structured learning pathways.
