GUWAHATI: A boy's visit to Sukreswar Ghat in Guwahati ended in a tragedy. The boy, probably 15 to 16 years old, is said to have drowned in the Brahmaputra River on Saturday evening. The missing boy is identified as Zahid Ahmed, a class X student from the Birubari locality.

According to the sources, amidst the scorching heat, the boy, along with his five other friends, went to the river to take a bath. They all dived deep into the river while taking a bath; unfortunately, one of them was suspected to have drowned.

After the incident, a team of river police and members of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel started a search operation in search of the boy on Sunday.
