Guwahati: Youth Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Silpukhuri area in Guwahati on February 19.

The 23 year old deceased has been identified as as Monjit Deka, a resident of Housing Colony in Silpukhuri.

As per reports, the incident occurred when the victim was alongside with three of his friends identified as Mridul Das, Jayanta Haloi and Uday Shankar Dhar, while returning home.

According to his friends, the deceased was reportedly coming home from a birthday party the previous night. He was in an inebriated state with a bottle of liquor in his hand and one tucked at his waist.

Police suspect that he fell, as a result of which the bottle tucked to his waist broke and shards of glass entered his abdominal area which killed him. The deceased body was found in a pool of blood.

The three friends have been taken to the Chandmari Police where they are being currently questioned.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased youth has also been taken to the Chandmari Police Station.
