Guwahati: Youth Jumps in Brahmaputra River

Guwahati: Another tragic incident unfolded in Panikhaiti, Guwahati. Despite continuous search operations by the police and SDRF in the Brahmaputra River, they have failed to trace the youth who jumped into the river.

According to police sources, a youth suddenly jumped into the Brahmaputra near the Ganesh Mandir area of Hatisila in Panikhaiti. The youth has been identified as Som Das from Patharquary, Narengi.

Locals informed that Som Das had come for a morning walk near the Ganesh Temple on Monday. Unexpectedly, he jumped into the river. However, the reason behind his actions remains unknown.

Based on information provided by local residents, police personnel from Panikhaiti and SDRF teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. But as dusk fell and darkness approached, the teams were forced to call off the search for the day.
