Heroin and World is Yours tablets seized, 2 held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police's crackdown against drug peddlers continues. On Monday, five drug peddlers were nabbed with 500 gm of heroin, worth around Rs 4 crore, from near the Bodoland Guest House at Khanapara. Within 10 hours of this seizure, a special squad of Guwahati Police led by Joint Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Numal Mahatta, seized 500 gm of heroin and 30K World is Yours tablets from a truck at Jorabat.

According to police sources, each World is Yours tablet is valued at Rs 3,000. The total value of the 30,000 tablets seized is around Rs 9 crore. Along with the heroin, the total value of the drugs seized is around Rs 13 crore.

Police arrested two drug peddlers - Abdul Gaffer alias Souba Khan and Mohd. Remiz Khan hailing from Manipur. Police sources added that the tablets and heroin were hidden inside a folded tarpaulin sheet in the truck.
