Hottest day in Guwahati, records maximum temperature of 37.7°C

GUWAHATI: The gateway to the Northeast -- Guwahati -- witnessed the hottest day on October 14.

According to the Regional Meteorological Center, Guwahati, The city and its suburbs recorded the new Highest maximum temperature (37.7°C) till date for October month. (14th October 2021) The previous record was 37.0°C (1st October 2009)." A MET official said, "The daylight heat has witnessed a spike mainly due to climate change, deforestation, and an overall change in the lifestyle of the people in general.
