House gutted in fire in Bamunimaidan area of Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A major fire broke out in the Bamunimaidan area in the city on Monday night. The fire broke out in the house of Robin Chaudhary. Although no casualties have been reported, property worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the inferno, said sources.

As per reports, as many as three fire brigades were rushed to the site of the blaze as soon as the authorities were alerted and the situation was soon brought under control with the help of the local people. The fire started because of an earthen lamp, added sources.
