'ILLEGAL' APPOINTMENT: AFDC Ltd issues show-cause notice to 217 employees

GUWAHATI: Assam Fisheries Development Corporation (AFDC) Ltd served show-cause notices to 217 employees asking them to state reasons why the Corporation should not take administrative action against them (i) by terminating them from the service of AFDC Ltd for their illegal entry to the Corporation and (ii) by availing another legal remedy for appropriate actions as per law regarding their illegal entry to the AFDC Ltd.

AFDC Ltd MD said that a high-level committee headed by an Additional Chief Secretary had inquired into the appointment procedure of the 217 employees illegal. "You appeared before the high-level committee and stated on your behalf. As the committee after verifying all relevant records, documents and statements found your entry to the AFDC Ltd to be illegal being appointed without any advertisement and interview and recommended for termination of your service from AFDC Ltd. So this has led to taking administrative action against you by the AFDC Ltd authority and as such you are hereby asked to reply specifically on the points above stating reasons why the administrative actions should not be taken against you."

The AFDC Ltd MD asked the 217 employees to reply by July 28.
