In Loving Memory of Bijoya Borooah

In Loving Memory of Bijoya Borooah

It is said that if you do good to others, then you can expect to lead a beautiful life ahead without any obstacles. But this proved wrong to my Jethai (Smt Bijoya Borooah) who passed away on 27th of November 2018. She was a woman with a “golden heart.” Her demeanour was constantly pleasant with a smile that could cause someone else to smile and feel happier just being in her presence. For the past few months, she bravely fought through her illness. And seeing her suffer in those last hours was extremely difficult.

Bijoya Borooah was the eldest among her siblings and she cared a lot for her brothers and sisters. She was everybody’s favourite because her smiling face never failed to provide special affection to the people who visited her. The best lesson that she has left us with is her example of strength. Even with some of her challenges, especially toward the end of her journey here on this Earth, she faced the world with faith and love. Even when she couldn’t communicate in a way that we understood, her light still shone through.

She will be missed by us, but her spirit and strength would continue to live on in each of us and in the lives that she touched. She lives on in me and in all those who have been touched by the love, strength, conviction, wisdom, and beauty of her soul.

Time can never erase your presence in our lives. On this day of Adya Shraddha (06.12.2018), we pray to God to grant peace to your noble soul. May you be reborn again as my sweet Jethai with the same smile on your face.
