IndianOil assures home-delivery of LPG amid COVID-19 lockdown

GUWAHATI: IndianOil has been repeatedly stressing on the need for all its customers to book cylinders staying at home by using various options like IVRS, Whatsapp, IndianOil ONE app etc. Through a release on Wednesday, IndianOil stated that, “Once booking has been done, customers are requested to stay at home and the cylinders will be delivered at their doorstep. It has been observed that many customers are crowding LPG distributorships for LPG refills out of panic or based on many unfound rumors. Many customers are even demanding LPG refills without bookings and are coming down to collect the cylinders from the godown. Many instances have been observed where the public are intercepting/ blocking the LPG delivery vehicles enroute to home delivery and demanding for refills without any valid bookings.”

The release added that, “On the rumors that the supply of LPG refills from IndianOil to distributors is not adequate, we would like to clarify here that LPG refills are supplied by IndianOil as and when our distributors book their indents which are executed within a day or two. To ensure that all the LPG demand across north east is fulfilled, IndianOil has augmented its supply chain logistics and has also started 24 x 7 operations of two major locations in the region i.e. North Guwahati Bottling Plant and Silchar Bottling Plant. This has increased our bottling capacity by nearly 45000 LPG cylinders in a day, enough to meet the LPG backlog of the entire North – East, not just Assam.”

IndianOil is in continuous touch with the district administration and IndianOil LPG Distributors regarding their issues. Even though security was given at all the Distributorship premises during the lockdown, the same was withdrawn on 20.04.2020 after relaxation of the lockdown. IndianOil has again requested for police support at all the distributorships for seamless delivery of LPG refills to our customers whilst maintaining all social Distancing and safety norms. The District Administration has assured to seek support from the Police department to maintain Law & Order and social distancing and safety norms at the Distributorship Premises.

G Ramesh, Chief General Manager of the Indian Oil AOD State Office has requested all customers to make use of the various online booking options and feedback options made available to the customers. He elaborated on the various mediums to book an LPG refill from the comfort of our homes like making a booking through IVRS by calling 7670024365 (Assam)/ 9089024365 (Rest of NE). Cylinders can also be booked via WhatsApp by typing “REFILL” to 7588888824 from the registered mobile number.
