Indrani Tahbildar suicide case: Diban Deka arrested by Chandmari Police

GUWAHATI: In connection with Indrani Tahbildar's suicide case, Diban Deka, the controversial person, was arrested by the Chandmari Police on Friday. After a day-long interrogation, Diban Deka was arrested in the suicide case of Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha Secretary Indrani Tahbildar after her intimate pictures went viral. Prior to the arrest of Diban Deka, Anurag Chaliha was arrested from Demow, Sibsagar, on August 14.

According to sources, Indrani Tahbildar's incriminating pictures went viral. Currently, Anurag is on remand at Chandmari Police Station.

It may be mentioned that Diban Deka was one of the accused in the SI recruitment scam. He was arrested, kept in jail for 26 months, and later got bailed.

Meanwhile, Diban Deka's first wife filed a case at Panbazar police station, alleging that he remarried without getting a divorce. Deka went into hiding when the suicide case came to light. It may be mentioned that Indrani committed suicide on August 11 in Bamunimaidan.
