ITSSA appeals for safety of stranded labourers amid nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19

GUWAHATI: The Indigenous Tribal Sahitya Sabha of Assam (ITSSA) has requested all the Chief Ministers of the States to provide basic amenities of life such as food, medical help, water and sheltering place to the stranded labourers of Assam.

In a release ITSSA stated that, “With a view to break the chain infection of the dreaded coronavirus, those people should be allowed to stay at where they are for the safety of more than 3.10 crore people of Assam.” ITSSA is a conglomerated body of 8 Indigenous Tribal Sahitya Sabha i.e. (Bodo Mising, Karbi, Rabha, Tiwa, Deury, Dimasa and Garo).
