GUWAHATI: The District Transport Office (DTO) of Kamrup (M) collected Motor Vehicle Tax of over Rs 200 crore between April 1 and October 31 this year.
According to DTO sources, payment of Motor Vehicle Tax has become very easy now due to facilities such as net banking, RTGS, digital options etc.
Referring to road traffic accidents, the sources informed that there were 553 accidents between January and September this year, out of which 167 mishaps involved fatalities. There were also more than 18,000 violations of the wearing of helmet rule, along with more than 700 cases of drunken driving.
